Fresh Air in Upstate New York

⭐In late May, I visited the northeastern part of New York State, specifically the Adirondack Mountains, where one small town left a lasting impression: Lake Placid. This town, once host to the Winter Olympics, boasts a strong outdoor vibe despite its compact size. You can stroll along Main Street and explore most of the area. 🍃We hiked Mount Jo, a short drive from Lake Placid (about 15 minutes), navigating to the High Peaks Information Center. The loop trail is 2.4 miles long with a 708-foot elevation gain. It's recommended to ascend counterclockwise, tackling the steeper sections uphill and saving the gentler slopes for the descent. There's purportedly a hidden observation deck to the right at the third staircase before reaching the summit, but we couldn't locate it after a short search😂. #UpstateNewYork #NewYorkState
