Fresh and Affordable Uni in Santa Barbara❗️

Recently discovered a hidden gem—Santa Barbara Fish Market—and I seriously recommend it to everyone! A few days ago, my friends and I took the train from LA to SB for a day trip. Before heading back, we decided to try the uni here based on a recommendation from . The seafood at this market is incredibly fresh—it feels like it was just pulled from the ocean! 🏝️ At first, we weren’t sure how many sea urchins to get (we were worried it might not live up to the hype😅), but while waiting for the staff to clean them, we saw other customers finishing theirs and tossing the still-moving shells into the trash. That’s when we knew we’d come to the right place! We even asked them how it was, and they replied, “The best ever!” 😍 We ended up buying two sea urchins, four oysters, and some sliced salmon. Maybe because the oysters were a bit small, they gave us six instead! 🦪 The uni was super fresh and sweet—even when we finished eating, it was still moving! 🏼 The oysters were just okay—a little small. The salmon was fresh, but the guy’s knife skills were… not the best lol 😂. We also grabbed two packs of sushi from a nearby spot. The portions were generous, the price was reasonable, and overall, it was a great experience! 🍣 Both shops are located in the harbor area. The fish market is small but clean, with seafood displayed simply on ice—rustic and honest. The sushi shop is cozy and casual, right by the water.
