Fukuoka City Zoo and Botanical Garden πΏ
Upon entering the zoo, you are greeted by the large exhibit area for Asian elephants, which is one of the well-designed sections of the park. ππΏ You can see that the elephants have been provided with sand pits, water pools, and entertainment facilities. However, due to the hot weather today, the elephants were not very active. π Another standout exhibit is the penguin area, which cleverly utilizes the terrain to create a spacious feel despite its relatively small size. ππΏ There is a large pool where visitors can watch the penguins swim gracefully. Surprisingly, the zoo has designed an excellent habitat for the penguins. π§ The zoo is also involved in conservation programs for Tsushima Leopard Cats and Tsushima Martens, demonstrating a commendable level of commitment to wildlife conservation. Due to disinfection efforts against avian flu today, most birds were inaccessible for close observation. ππΏ However, from a distance, the birds appeared to be in good condition. π¦ ππΏFor those planning to visit: The zoo is not very large and can be fully explored in three hours. ππΏ Allocate extra time to observe your favorite animals. Choose a day that is not too hot, as animals can appear lethargic in extreme heat, which can affect your experience. A cloudy or overcast day is ideal. ππΏ Starting at 4 PM, zookeepers begin feeding the animals and cleaning their enclosures, which can be an interesting experience to watch, although the animals will gradually return to their indoor shelters. The zoo is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, with last entry at 4:30 PM. It is closed on Mondays. ππΏ Admission is 600 yen, and the ticket allows multiple entries within the same day. #Zoo #FukuokaCity ππΏ
