Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art

What’s Worth Seeing at the Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art with a 10-Yen Ticket? 🎨 So far, it’s the cheapest prefectural-level art museum I’ve been to. 🌬️ The ticket price is 200 yen, which is about 10 RMB. 🎫 Although it’s a prefectural museum, there’s not much to see. 🎨 The exhibition halls are few and small, and there are very few artworks. 🌬️ There’s no crown jewel of the collection either. 🌟 Even so, I still saw a few pieces that I really liked and left a deep impression on me. I think it’s still worth a visit. ✨ 🎨 The “Wind Sculpture” at the entrance is by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare. 🌬️He has a disability and lived in Nigeria, a British colony, from the age of 3, before returning to London at 17. In the past, Britain and the Netherlands exported wax-printed fabrics to West Africa, where they became very popular. 🎨 Yinka Shonibare’s experience growing up in Africa often leads him to incorporate African print elements into his works. 🌬️The Wind Sculpture features fluttering African print textiles. 🌬️ 🎨 #Fukuoka
