German food restruant in San Jose-- Teske's Germania
📍 Teske's Germania A somewhat disappointing restaurant, possibly because German cuisine itself is relatively simple. The menu mostly features various pork dishes: schweinshaxn (roasted pork knuckle), schnitzel (pork cutlet), bratwurst (fried pork sausage). The restaurant is decorated in a very classic style, and it's quite comfortable to enjoy a cool German beer in the backyard during the summer. 👉 Schweinebratwürstchen mit Sauerkraut and Spätzle $15 The sauerkraut is delicious! It's even better than stir-fried vermicelli with pickled vegetables. The pork sausage has a flavor that you can't find in the supermarket, a rather special spice. The sauce that comes with it, similar to gravy, is not tasty and falls apart easily when stretched. 👉 Schweinshaxe mit Kartoffelsalat und Sauerkraut $32 ❌ Not as tasty as braised pork knuckle, the flavor is relatively bland, and the skin is not crispy but soft, taking a long time to chew and feeling like chewing gum. I prefer the slightly sour potato salad, which outshines the pork knuckle. 255 N 1st St, San Jose, CA 95113 #San Jose#Teske's Germania#bar#German food #food diary
