Gourmet Sharing No. 1 | King & I Thai Cuisine in St. Louis
This is my go-to Thai spot—my “Thai food at heart” canteen 🥘! I heard this restaurant is one of the longest-running Thai eateries in St. Louis, with a rich history 🏛️. The portions here are huge 🍛. If you love spicy food, order the “extra spicy” level 🌶️—my friend and I were instantly mistaken for native Thais by Americans, who even asked us for menu recommendations 😆. All I could say was “sawasdee kha” (the Thai greeting for women) with a little bow 🙏, though—I know next to nothing about Thai, and I haven’t even been to Thailand! But my taste buds? They’re total “Thai food fans” through and through. The ingredients are fresh too: the shrimp are big and plump 🦐, and their Mango Sticky Rice comes with way more rice than most other Thai restaurants—no skimping on portions here 🍚! I highly recommend the Spicy Mango Tofu. I thought it might be a weird “dark cuisine” combo at first 😂, but it turned out amazing: the tofu is crispy on the outside with a tender, juicy center ✨, tossed with spicy mango shreds and onion strips. It’s the perfect appetizer to wake up your taste buds. Their Combo platter is a carb lover’s dream 🍜🍚—it comes with Pad Thai, fried rice, curry, and fried shrimp. It’s the best post-hike meal: after a 20km hike in the suburbs (shoutout to my tired legs 🥾), this platter is exactly what you need to refill your carb stores. Right next to King & I is a Starbucks—grab an icy Pink Drink first ☕️❄️, then head to the Thai restaurant for your carb feast. It’s the most perfect post-workout treat, and after that? You can go home and sleep like a baby 😴. 📍 Address: 8039 Dale Ave, Richmond Heights, MO 63117 💸 Average Cost: Around $30 per person 🅿️ Parking: Huge parking lot right in front—parking ease rating: 5/5 👍 #ThaiFood #RestaurantHopping #Foodie #StLouisEats #PostHikeMeals
