Grand Central Omakase Experience at Jōji 🌟
I dined here over two months ago, and overall, it was a pretty great experience. The optional crab (kegani uni, around $80) is definitely worth a try. Apart from that, the meal was pretty standard but satisfying. 😋 Appetizers: Managatsuo A classic omakase appetizer—thin slices of white fish, a common and delicious start. 🍣 Kegani Uni Their signature hairy crab with sea urchin and plenty of crab meat. It was really yummy! 🦀 Toro Tataki Another signature dish—seared fatty tuna. 🐟 Hata Caviar White fish topped with caviar, with a touch of shiso oil at the bottom. 🍜 Nigiri: Shima Aji Striped jack fish. Beautifully sliced and a lighter option. 🍣 Akami Lean tuna, a classic choice. 🍣 Amaebi Sweet shrimp nigiri, fresh and sweet. 🦐 Meichidai A white fish, really tasty. 🍣 Kinmedai Golden eye snapper, a slightly fattier white fish. 🍣 Hotate Scallops cut into beautiful patterns, sweet and not too rich. 🦶 Chu Toro Fattier tuna compared to akami. 🍣 Uni Caviar Crunchy nori, salty sea urchin and caviar. I loved this one! 🍣 Maitake Hen-of-the-woods mushroom nigiri, a rare find. 🍣 Saba Marinated mackerel, refreshing and light. 🍣 Toro Taku I forgot to take a photo of this one—tuna paste hand roll. 🍣 Dessert: Hojicha Truffle Ice Cream Lots of hojicha truffle, almost covering the entire ice cream. 🍦 #NewYorkMichelin #Omakase 🍣
