This was my second time at @grandmashomeus 🍃 The menu says the dishes are spicy but it is not the same kind of spicy as Sichuan food. The flavors are more on the mild side so if you like a little spice I recommend it. Since it is Hangzhou-style the taste is a bit sweeter which makes it different. 🎢 The You tiao shrimp reminded me of home and was my favorite dish. The eggplant also surprised me. I usually do not like the soft texture or the slightly odd taste of eggplant but here it was cooked really well. The garlic flavor was strong and the fried texture made it delicious. 🌸 The salted egg yolk shrimp with taro fries was another favorite. The flavor is on the heavier side but it goes perfectly with rice. 🌊 The braised pork was more average but the tofu inside was really great. It had a texture similar to vegetarian egg tofu and the flavor made me want to keep eating more. 🌸 #nyc#chinesefood
