Grateful for NYC’s Japanese & Korean Food 🌸🍚

This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for all the meals shared with good company. To me, a great meal isn’t just about the food—it’s about the memories, the laughter, and the people you’re with. Here’s a look back at some standout Japanese and Korean spots that left me smiling (and drooling). 📍 53 NYC Cherry eel foie gras was the star — rich, silky, and unforgettable. Hainanese chicken was tender but didn’t stand out. The duck claypot rice was just okay, and the black truffle steamed egg felt delicate, though the foie gras portion was tiny. 📍 Class on 38th Unagi foie gras rice is a must-try — intensely flavorful, with perfectly balanced sauce. The uni squid ink pasta, though, was underwhelming — texture felt off. Tuna uni toast was overly salty and not worth the price. 📍 Konban Every dish was well-seasoned. Salt & pepper corn and sea bass were delicious, the butter scallops with kale were aromatic, and the niku udon with tender beef in steaming broth was pure comfort. 📍 Wokuni Pricey but solid. The grilled fish lunch special was forgettable, but miso cod was reliably good. The tuna (otoro or chutoro?) was melt-in-your-mouth luxurious — every bite felt indulgent. 📍 Seoul Salon Rose tteokbokki was spicy, sweet, and utterly addictive. Scallop rice had a nice chewy texture, and the soy-glazed scallops with sesame oil were incredibly savory. The beef hot pot had real heat — spicy enough to make your nose run! 📍 Tomi Jazz More than a jazz bar — their mentaiko udon is legendary. I rarely eat late, but this kept me going back for more. Worth the two-hour wait in the cold, especially with good company. 📍 Izakaya MEW Great value. Unagi rice and spicy cream udon are classics for a reason — rich and satisfying. Only downside: the salmon appetizer didn’t feel fresh. 📍 Barn Joo Stick to the Union Square location. Salmon tartare and seafood cream udon were fresh and creamy, with bouncy, flavorful fish. Avoid Ktown — the beef there was tough and disappointing. More food adventures to come… 🍜✨ #NYCEats #JapaneseFoodNYC #KoreanFoodNYC #NYCRestaurants #FoodMemories #ThanksgivingEats #NYCFoodie #EatWithFriends #ComfortFood #ToBeContinued
