H Mart is officially opening its largest store in the country right here in the Bay Area, with construction expected to begin in late 2026. Vestar announced last week that H Mart will open a multi-level grocery store and food hall at Fremont’s Pacific Commons Shopping Center. Here’s a closer look. H Mart comes to Pacific Commons ------------------------------- The Pacific Commons Shopping Center, located at the intersection of I-880 and Bunche Drive in Fremont, will house the new 100,000-square-foot H Mart. It will the flagship of H Mart’s new prototype, which offers dining areas as well as grocery shopping. Plans for the Fremont H Mart include a mix of casual and full-service restaurants, a bar, and an entertainment area. The enormous, multi-level space is still in early stages, with groundbreaking due at the end of 2026 and an opening date still TBA. “At H Mart, we strive to enrich lives through our Asian heritage, food, and culture, and this new location represents a bold new chapter for us.” said Brian Kwon, President of H Mart, in a press release. “By blending elevated dining and community spaces, we are creating a premier destination for food lovers where diverse ethnicities of friends and neighbors can gather.
