Had a delicious and aesthetic meal in Zamalek!
📍Abou E l Sid Restaurant Tucked away on the eastern side of the enchanting Zamalek Island🌴, this restaurant is a hidden gem for indulging in authentic Egyptian cuisine! The moment you step inside, it's like taking a time - travel journey back to ancient Egypt🕰️. The air is filled with the alluring aroma of spices, and the soft hum of conversations creates an atmosphere that's simply magical. The indoor lighting is incredibly dim🥀. The warm, yellowish glow casts a cozy and intimate spell over the place. The walls are adorned with traditional Egyptian art and handicrafts🎨. From intricately woven tapestries to rustic pottery, each piece whispers tales of Egypt's rich history and culture. Plush cushions on the seats and vintage - style tables and chairs make you want to linger and savor every moment of your meal. 🍴Time for the food! We started with the signature roasted pigeon🕊️. When it was served, it looked golden and glistening, making our mouths water! As we cut into it, we found it stuffed with fragrant rice🍚, which had absorbed all the delicious juices from the pigeon. However, the portion was quite small😔, and the flavor was rather mild. To be honest, I still prefer kufta (minced meat kebab)😍. It's tender, juicy, and packed with meaty goodness. The blend of spices explodes on your taste buds—it's absolutely divine! But the real showstopper was the rice pudding🍮✨! This is an absolute must - order! When it arrived, it looked so creamy and inviting that we couldn't wait to dig in🤤. One spoonful, and it melted in our mouths. The rich, milky flavor combined with a hint of cinnamon was pure bliss. The sweetness was just right, and we couldn't stop going back for more. And in Egypt, a meal isn't complete without freshly squeezed orange juice🥤! We had a glass with every course. It was tangy, sweet, and the perfect palate - cleanser, making every bite of our meal even more enjoyable. My friend and I had a light meal, and we left feeling comfortably full👯♀️. The bill, including tax and service charge, came to 850 EGP💰. Considering the authentic Egyptian experience and the quality of the food, it was definitely worth every penny! #CairoRestaurants #EgyptTravel #TravelGuide #EgyptianCuisine #GrilledMeat #Desserts #Food
