πΏ Halifax Travel: Peggy's Cove ποΈ
This is one of the landmarks of the Atlantic provinces and is known as the most romantic lighthouse town in the world. π Initially, Peggy's Cove was a nameless fishing village. π¦. According to legend, a young woman was sailing to Halifax to meet her fiancΓ© when her ship crashed into rocks near the village and sank. βοΈ βοΈβ¨Almost everyone on board perished, except for the young woman who was rescued by local fishermen. π²π² She lost her memory and her name, so the fishermen called her Peggy. π’π The charming Peggy later married a local man, and her story spread far and wide, attracting visitors from all over to the small fishing village. ποΈ Because the village was located in a small cove, she became known as Peggy of the Cove. π Over time, people simply referred to the village as Peggy's Cove. π‘ This is also one of the most photographed fishing villages in Canada, with a beautiful lighthouse perched on rocks above the Atlantic Ocean. βοΈβοΈ There used to be a lighthouse post office here. ππ§π¦. It is said that this lighthouse was the first to receive the Titanic's distress call. πThe restaurant next to the lighthouse sells many tourist souvenirs, and sea cucumbers are much more expensive here than in the city. π Sitting inside or outside the restaurant, enjoying lobster from the village, sipping a specially crafted cocktail, and watching the sunset is simply perfect! π¦πΈπ #mydaily #myfooddiary #peggyscoveinfluencerlighthouse πΏπ
