🌸 Hamilton Doors Open + Sakura Season!
This weekend was Hamilton Doors Open—free access to historic sites, tours, and events, perfectly timed with cherry blossom season! Here’s how we made the most of it: 🏰 Dundurn Castle & Park A stunning 200-year-old lakeside mansion with gorgeous views! Unlike European castles, this one feels lived-in and cozy. The tour includes a military museum and a charming kitchen garden (yes, a fancy "veggie patch" 🥕). Took about 1.5 hours—totally worth it! 🏯 Dundas Historic Walking Tour Joined the "Adaptive Reuse" tour with a local historian, exploring 15 repurposed heritage buildings. (Wish I understood more of the… but still fascinating!) Stumbled upon cute shops—found an amazing essential oils store with high-quality skincare. Will be back! 🌸 Lakeside Sakura Spotting Hamilton has several cherry blossom spots, but: Centennial Park: Already past peak 🌸➡️🍂 RBG Nature Centre: Nowseason 💸 So we stopped at Spencer Smith Park instead—just a few trees, but so dreamy! Fluffy pink blooms against the lake looked like spring snow ❄️💖. 📸 Perfect day mixing history, architecture & flowers! #DoorsOpenHamilton #CherryBlossomSeason #HistoricCanada #ExploreOntario #TorontoLife
