Hard to Explain
š East Village šø Ma-chet Baker Latte: The base is pure sake, mixed with brown rice tea, matcha, and oat milk. The texture of this drink is closer to that of a milk tea. šŗ Apart from the aroma, the sake flavor is almost undetectable. It has a very smooth mouthfeel and is perfect for those who have a sweet tooth. šµ šø Cameron Obscura: Dry vermouth, elderflower liqueur, sparkling sake, and yuzu juice. When I looked at the menu, I thought this drink would be light and slightly bitter, but the overall tone is sweet. šŗ The flavors of orange and pear are quite prominent, with a noticeable floral scent (likely from the combination of vermouth and elderflower liqueur). With a touch of fizz, I think it makes a pretty good aperitif. šø šø Empress X: Amaro, plum wine, mixed with rose and lychee. This drink feels like a palate cleanser for a sticky summer night. The bittersweet flavor of Amaro dominates, and the other ingredients' flavors are somewhat overshadowed. šŗ I find the rose flavor not very well-balanced; in my experience, Amaro pairs better with orange. š¹ #NewYork šš
