Healed by the 95-Year-Old Yayoi Kusama π
The Yayoi Kusama Museum in Tokyo was my favorite stop in Japan. πΏ πβ¨ The museum isn't very large, and there aren't too many exhibits, but that's precisely what allows you to truly appreciate each piece of art. The museum has a total of five floors. Floors 2 and 3 feature Kusama's paintings, but photography is not allowed. πΈπ« π 2nd Floor: Early works and a continuous loop of Kusama's personal photos. π· π 3rd Floor: Recent works, with the most recent pieces dating back to 2023. It's hard to imagine that Kusama, now in her 90s, continues to create art, mostly centered around the theme of love, which is incredibly healing. β€οΈ π 4th and 5th Floors: The pumpkin sculpture exhibitions β "Pumpkins Calling Love from the Infinite" and "Gigantic Pumpkin" β where photography is allowed. π π 1st Floor: The gift shop area, along with her early sculptures β "Thousand Boat Show." ποΈ π Elevators and Restrooms: Perfect spots for selfies! πΈ Kusama was brave and rebellious in her youth, but her later works are filled with love and warmth. πβ¨ If you're a fan, don't miss this exhibition. It runs until September, so try to book your tickets as early as possible. πΊ #YayoiKusama #Tokyo πβ¨
