π This is the world's only church built into a rock, named Temppeliaukion Church, also known as the "Rock Church" because the entire church is constructed within a single rock formation. π₯³ π¨ Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it was carved out of a single large rock. The original site of the church was a massive granite boulder, and the designers hollowed it out and expanded the space inside, eventually creating a hollow form from the rock. ποΈ π The church's ceiling is made up of 180 pieces of glass, forming a skylight that allows for 360-degree natural light collection inside the church, which is truly magical! π π The church is located in the heart of Helsinki. Use Google Maps to search for "Temppeliaukion Church" to check the operating hours (Fridays and weekends, as well as winter and summer hours, vary, so it's recommended to check the times before visiting).
