Hidden Gem: A Medieval Fairy Tale Town in France π°π
We recently visited an ultra-niche, stunning medieval fairy tale town in France π°π! π While the fame of fairy tale towns often goes to Colmar and Annecy, in the northwestern region of Brittany, close to Rennes, Mont Saint-Michel, and Saint-Malo, lies another medieval fairy tale town: Dinan! βοΈ I was on a vacation in Brittany with my boyfriend's family, and they planned the itinerary. After exploring the island city of Saint-Malo during the day, we arrived at our B&B in Dinan in the afternoon and discovered how charming this little town is! π π¨ Dinan has a colorful and fairy-tale-like atmosphere, quiet and not noisy at all! There's also a river with many boats, and dining by the riverbank gives you a coastal feeling. It's truly relaxing! π· In the city center, there's a cobblestone path that goes uphill, and it's lined with medieval half-timbered houses in a fairy tale style, with a touch of Harry Potter. This colorful path is perfect for photos! This romantic fairy tale town is not just found in Colmar! π If you're traveling to Rennes or Mont Saint-Michel, it's definitely worth visiting this town, even staying overnight! It's filled with well-preserved artistic and historical monuments, suitable for both a quick visit or an in-depth exploration. π Regarding transportation: We took the train from Paris to Saint-Malo to meet my boyfriend's parents and then drove for half an hour to reach Dinan. It's recommended to start from Mont Saint-Michel, Rennes, or Saint-Malo. π½οΈ Dinan is really comfortable and cozy! Finding a restaurant by the river for a meal is incredibly relaxing!!! π A great vacation spot!!! #TakeMyTime #LessCrowded #OffTheBeatenPath #HiddenGemsInBigCities #AffordableAndFun #GreatForFamilyOutings #France #MyEuropeanAdventure #Brittany
