Hidden Gem in Grand Central: The Campbell Bar 🍷
I recently read in a book that if the author had friends visiting New York, the first stop would definitely be a bar in Grand Central Station. 📚 After reading that, I knew I had to check it out immediately! ✅ The Campbell Bar is a bit tricky to find, with its location tucked away amidst various staircases and elevators. You might even need to show your ID (they checked mine the first time but not the second). 🌊 Once you make your way to the second floor, the atmosphere is just incredible—perfect for a date and exuding an old-world charm. With its high ceilings and dim lighting, it feels like a step back in time. 🕰️ This visit was my last chance to unwind before the hustle and bustle of the school year begins. It’s the perfect spot to relax and take in the unique ambiance. 🌿 Here’s a quote from the book that perfectly captures the essence of the place: “This is why I love the west side of the nearly 200-foot-tall building of Grand Central, as if the bar is suspended in mid-air. 🌊 With a drink in hand, leaning on the railing and looking down at the thousands of people rushing below (the mortal world?), you realize that no matter how much pain you feel, there’s always someone below who feels worse; no matter how happy you are, there’s always someone who feels even happier; no matter how tired you are, there’s definitely someone more exhausted. And then, like an epiphany, you suddenly feel a sense of detachment from it all…” 🌆 #NewYork #NewYorkBars #GrandCentral 🎢🌟
