Hidden Gem of a Bakery 🌟
🍰 Seaweed Pork Floss Taro Tiramisu Surprisingly harmonious! Topped with crunchy pork floss and seaweed bits, it’s salty, fragrant, and crispy. The taro paste in the middle is smooth and dense, paired with light cream. Technically, it’s not a tiramisu since there’s no coffee or ladyfingers, but it’s more like a box cake—and it’s incredibly delicious! 🍰 🍮 Classic Tiramisu If you want to play it safe, the classic version is always a winner. 🥧 🍰 This time, I tried durian soy milk, taro mochi, and chestnut earl grey. Northerners prefer the first two. The durian one really has durian pulp inside! 🌟🌟🌟 The taro cake has a sticky mochi layer that’s just delightful. Southerners like the earl grey one, which feels like a variant of Mont Blanc, but the chestnuts on top are a bit too hard. 🦐🥩 Lunch We ordered shrimp tomato pasta (so many large shrimp!) and black pepper beef steak pasta. Surprisingly delicious! It’s similar to the fried pasta you’d find in a tea restaurant, and it’s cheap and filling. A huge portion for only $16 or $17—nowadays, even a salad in Manhattan costs almost $20. 🧋🥭 Almost forgot about the drinks! The mango sago dessert is great and even got a thumbs-up from a southerner. The guava matcha is high in looks and not too sweet. Next time, I want to try black sesame soy milk, matcha, and pistachio! What other strange but delicious combinations have you tried?
