🍃 Hidden Gems Near New York for a Cool Summer Escape
Live Waterfalls with Early Summer Breezes Just a 2-hour drive from New York, you can reach this refreshing haven at Bushkill Falls, located at the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This area features a cluster of eight waterfalls, with the largest drop being 30 meters, earning it the nickname "Pennsylvania's Little Niagara." 🌊 The park offers four hiking trails—green, yellow, blue, and red—categorized by difficulty. The routes mainly consist of wooden boardwalks, shaded paths, and gravel roads. Occasionally, you'll need to ford streams (with stepping stones and large branches to help). I took the longest route, the red trail, which took about two hours. There wasn't much elevation gain, but if you plan to hike the longer trails, I recommend wearing waterproof and slip-resistant shoes. The park is full of greenery, and the mist from the waterfalls keeps the area cool—perfect for a summer adventure! 🌳 📍 Location: Bushkill Falls 🎫 Admission: Adults $22, Seniors (62+) $20, Children (4-10) $12, Free for children under 3, Additional $7 for fishing. 🌈 Tips: Only water and snacks are allowed in the park (no outside food). Pets are welcome. 🐾 #CoolingOffSpots #NearNewYork #NearNewJersey #OutdoorHiking #Waterfalls
