Hokusai Museum 🌊
The Hokusai Museum is not very large and has a limited number of exhibits. 🌊 The third floor features special exhibitions, while the fourth floor houses the permanent collection. 🍃Photography is not allowed in the special exhibition area, and the English annotations leave much to be desired. To be honest, the textual content isn't particularly engaging. ✨ If you have the opportunity, try reading the Japanese descriptions; if not, that's okay too. 🌊 The themes of the special exhibitions are regularly rotated, showcasing different artworks. Ukiyo-e are woodblock prints, and the more times they are printed, the poorer the quality of the later prints becomes. 🍃 The best prints are the first editions, specifically the first 200 prints from the initial run. ✨The Hokusai Museum does a good job with this aspect. #Tokyo 🌇✨
