Weekend Getaway in New York With the amazing weather this weekend, we headed to Serene Horse Ranch in Branchville for a fantastic horseback riding adventure! 🌞🐎 📅 Booking: Text 201 841 9754 ⚠️ Before You Arrive: The owner will send you a link to purchase a riding permit ($27), valid until the end of the year. 💰 Cost: $50/hr ⌚️ Duration: 1hr or 2hr The drive from JC took about 1 hour and 25 minutes, but the experience was totally worth it! 🚗💨 Every tour is private, and the guide will take photos and videos for you—but as you can see, people appear super tiny in the shots, so if you want Instagram-worthy pics, bring your own camera! 😂📸 We took the 11 AM tour, and the weather was perfect—just the right temperature with a gentle breeze. Pure bliss! 🌿🍃 Pro tip: Wear long sleeves and pants! The trail takes you through forests and across shallow rivers, so you might encounter mud, branches, or splashes. Long sleeves also help with sun protection. 🧥👖 I rode Genesis, an 8-year-old mare—super gentle and obedient! She followed every command and even treated me to a few trots, making me feel like a true cowgirl. Yeehaw! 🤠💕 My friend rode Panama, a 10-year-old gelding who was a bit of a troublemaker! 🐴😂 He kept stopping to munch on grass and even refused to cross the river at one point. So stubborn, yet so hilarious! The horses at the ranch are incredibly sweet and intuitive.
