Hot pot skewers buffet for 40 per person
New York’s Chinatown is truly timeless! Every time I come here, I get to relive the prices from years ago—it’s the best. Last week, I went for an all-you-can-eat hotpot + skewer buffet, and they were running a Father’s Day deal: 🍺 beer was free, and there was a discount for two people. It worked out to $40 per person, and we left so stuffed we could barely walk! The menu here is huge, so let me share some hits and misses for you: 🥩 Lamb rolls, Angus beef, and shrimp paste are all amazing—must-orders! The tender beef, though, is just so-so by comparison. And they’re generous with the portions—each “serving” is a whole plate, which is a big plus. They have pig brains in the offal section, and they’re super fresh—another must-order! The tripe is white (not the black kind, if that matters to you). 🦀 Crabs are a must too—so much roe!! The clams are as big as your palm. 🐮 The grilled skewers have a sweet-spicy flavor, almost like fried skewers—so fragrant. The beef skewers taste just like the toothpick meat I had as a kid, and the lotus root slices are a must—so tasty! The garlic shrimp 🦐 is great too—the garlic sauce is on point. Honestly, though, we got so full later that we couldn’t eat much more. Next time, I might just go for the hotpot buffet alone—it’s $10 cheaper per person. They gave us dessert at the end, and the pudding 🍮 was really good 😋 🌶️ The only small letdown: the butter chili broth wasn’t spicy enough at first. But when we told the staff, they said we could add more spice—just a heads-up for everyone! That’s it for today’s share—hope I made you hungry! Follow me for more NYC life and food finds.
