Hotel Aesthetic Inspiration 𝟔𝟒 | Otro Oaxaca in Mexico 🏨😍
∘ 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐒: The hotel is located right in front of the Santo Domingo de Guzmán Church and its pedestrian plaza, yet it feels quite secluded compared to the bustling street outside 🚶♀️🏛️. However, behind its historic façade lies a modern complex that extends the vibrancy of the public square through a series of picturesque courtyards, a lively rooftop terrace, and cultural spaces 🎨🌳. The architecture of Otro Oaxaca was designed by a local team of architects from RootStudio 🏗️👨🎨. The floor plan draws inspiration from the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site, Mitla, with a cross-shaped corridor at the heart of the design. The main materials reference those of Santo Domingo, including brick walls and limestone terraces on the roofs 🧱🏞️. These unpolished materials complement raw concrete and reclaimed wood, reflecting the textured surfaces typical of Oaxacan architecture . · The vitality of the public spaces is juxtaposed with 16 rooms, where floating staircases and flickering shadow plays define the outdoor areas 🛤️🎭. The interior design, crafted by Carlos Couturier, showcases the region's craftsmanship with handmade furniture by local artisans. Concrete interiors are complemented by wood, suede, resin, and metal finishes tailored to each room . The hotel's rooftop offers panoramic views of Oaxaca City, where magical and colorful sunsets reflect off the stone exterior of the Santo Domingo Convent 🌇🏰. The distinctive green limestone flooring contrasts beautifully with the bricks, and a 10-meter-long swimming pool spans the space . Below the first-floor terrace lies the spa, along with a 7-meter-diameter heated plunge pool featuring a brick dome and skylight entrance 🛁💡. ∘ 𝐓𝐈𝐏𝐒: ▫️Design Team: RootStudio 🏗️👥 ▫️Photography Source: Cesar Béjar ▫️Information Source: Otro Oaxaca 📚🏨 #ResortHotel #HotelDesign #DiscoverHiddenGems #InteriorDesign 🏨
