How could we miss the warm cotton candy shabu-shabu in winter? 🌨️
Shabu-shabu with cotton candy⁉️ Sounds so novel! 📍 Ai Ki Ya Japanese Restaurant • Ambiance 🍹 The restaurant is not very big, but the decor is very Japanese . There are lots of comics on the walls 🎨. The lighting is dim, which makes the whole place very cozy 🎧. It’s quite popular, so you might have to wait for a table if you arrive late. • Cotton Candy Shabu-Shabu 🥩 It’s a 2⃣️-person set, including cotton candy, fatty beef, vegetables, tofu, konjac noodles, and udon noodles . The portion is very generous 👍🏻. The soup base is on the salty side. The cotton candy idea is very creative and worth trying 🪄. • Eel Rice (Unagi Don) 🐟 The eel is very plump and succulent, paired with yellow radish, which enhances the texture 💯. The sauce is very rich, but it can be a bit salty if you eat too much 🧂. I recommend trying it with tea, which I think is quite nice 🍵. • Beef Tongue The beef tongue is thickly sliced, a very thick piece . It has a very solid texture. • Yakitori 🐦 I wouldn’t recommend it. The chicken skin has no flavor and is a bit tough . The chicken gizzard and others are also just okay 👀. The bacon-wrapped quail eggs are not bad 🥓. • Matcha Ice Cream 🍦 It’s pretty good. The matcha flavor is not very strong 🍵, but the texture is quite rich. #NewYork 🌃
