I’m in Paris Where Bird Bones Blossom
✨Previously living in the Marais district of Paris, I often spent my free days exploring various exhibitions. This hidden gem of a museum was a recent discovery for me! Right in the Marais district, I stepped in on a friend’s recommendation and it felt like uncovering a new continent. The entire visit was goosebump-inducing, with so many blunt yet exquisitely artistic representations that made my chest tremble. If you’re in Paris and have an interest in flora, fauna, and nature, I cannot recommend this place enough! ✨The museum is housed in a 17th-century mansion, with exquisite decor and distinct themes in different rooms. Not only is the collection rich with hundreds of specimens, books, paintings, and sculptures, but the artistic reimagining of animal and plant specimens is truly breathtaking: bouquets made from bird bones, fabric birds suspended in mid-air, a human figure sculpted from a single piece of wood, small animal-shaped bones pierced by shotgun bullets, a bookshop built from black feathers, and animal specimens perched above an array of hunting rifles… ✨Unlike many obscure and profound art exhibitions, every piece here is both aesthetically pleasing and easily comprehensible, leaving one amazed by the creator’s ingenuity! ✨I find the museum highly inclusive, suitable for solo visitors, couples, and families with children alike. It’s a place worth visiting over and over again. The museum spans three floors and can take a good half-day to explore thoroughly, or about 1-2 hours for a quick visit. 🕗: Open from 11:00-18:00 (until 21:30 on Wednesdays, closed on Mondays) 🎫: 12€, free on the first Sunday of every month #TravelNotForTheGram #EuropeanTravel #FrenchTravel #ParisTravel #ParisExhibitions #ParisBucketList #ParisPhotography #ParisStroll
