🗼 I'm in Paris Enjoying a Big Meal All by Myself 🍽️
The sun is out in Paris today, and I'm on a City Walk, strolling around the Concorde area. I got hungry around 11:30 AM and decided to have an early lunch. I found this restaurant on Google Map with over 3000 ratings and a 4.5-star score. I arrived early enough to get a great seat, sitting by the window, watching the French people pass by, very pleasant and relaxing. Before ordering, they serve fried potato chips, very thin and crispy, salty, and quite tasty. I asked for a glass of water. The menu has a QR code to scan and order from your phone. You can add items to your cart but can't place the order directly; you need to show the server. The food came quite quickly, maybe because I was early 🤔 Appetizer: Soupe à l'oignon gratinée The appetizer is this soup, made from a superb combination of beef broth and caramelized onions. It's usually served in a small baking dish, with a pastry and cheese on top, then baked until the cheese melts. Main Course: Confit de canard This is a French specialty. Since I'm dining alone, I just ordered one main course and chose this one. It's salty, fragrant, and crispy, with a great texture, and it's hot, not lukewarm. Served with golden, crispy potatoes fried in duck fat, it's really aromatic ~ Confit refers to a cooking method: first, the duck meat is salted and then sealed in fat and cooked at a low temperature before being stored in oil under vacuum, which can last for months or even a year. When you want to eat it, just take the duck out of the oil and fry it until the skin is crispy. Salty and fragrant duck meat with a glass of dry white 🍷, just right. The duck gets saltier as you eat it, so if you can't handle too much salt, you might want to skip the confit duck 🦆. I forgot the name of the wine, but it was smooth and very suitable for pairing with the meal. Overall, it was a good experience. If you happen to be in the area, you can give it a try. #Paris #Louvre #FrenchCuisine #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGemRestaurant #GlobalFoodAndDrinkSquad #ExoticCuisine
