I was disappointed after eating the buffet barbecue Omi in Boston
🍖 Omi Korean Grill: Boston’s Newish All-You-Can-Eat KBBQ—A Disappointing Letdown After hearing buzz about this newer Korean BBQ spot, I went post-workout, starving and ready to feast. Spoiler: It did not live up to the hype. ❌ The Major Flops Pancake: Thick, doughy, and swimming in oil—tasted like fried flour, not the crispy, savory version you crave. Beef Tongue: Chewy to the point of being rubbery. Gnawing through it felt like a workout for my jaw. Frozen Beef Belly: Served rock-hard, even stuck to the plate (unthawed meat on a hot grill? Cooking 101 fail). It either dried out, burned, or stayed undercooked—no in-between. Short Ribs: Drenched in cloying sweet sauce, with a mushy texture that lacked any natural meat fiber. Grill Issues: We asked for 3 new grills, and none were oiled. With frozen meat + dry grates, every bite was a disaster—tough, charred, or unevenly cooked. ✅ The Silver Linings (Few as They Are) Steamed Egg: Silky, flavorful, and a highlight—we polished off 4 bowls. Kimchi Stew: Tangy, spicy, and well-balanced—redeemed some of the meal. Grilled Pineapple: Sweet, juicy, and perfect for cutting through the grease. Portions: Generous, especially the ribeye (served as a whole steak). Quantity over quality, though. 📍 The Verdict Vibe: Busy but chaotic—service felt unpolished, and grill maintenance was nonexistent. Price: ~$50+/person, which feels steep for subpar meat and execution. Who It’s For: Only if you’re solely after "eat as much as possible"—not if you care about flavor or texture. #BostonKBBQ #AYCEFail #DisappointingDining #KoreanGrill
