Idaho | The Ultimate Guide to Boise’s Must-Visit Spots 🌄📸

Just spent a long weekend in Boise, Idaho – and even though it’s not a typical tourist city, it totally won me over! Super clean, almost no homeless folks in sight, and the Boise River runs right through downtown 🏞️. Perfect for slow travel and lazy strolls. Here’s my roundup of the best spots not to miss: 🚴 Boise River Greenbelt A beautiful riverside trail system – ideal for biking or walking. We rented a tandem bike from McU Sports for $50/half-day 🚲💨. Highlights along the trail: 🤍 Boise Whitewater Park: Watch pro kayakers and surfers ride the waves – so cool! 🌊 Bernadine Quinn Park: Great for water fun! We rented SUP boards and floats from Idaho River Sports 🦢 Boise Paddle Boat Rentals: Nostalgic pedal boating – like being a kid again! 🏛 Old Idaho Penitentiary – $8 A historic prison with a gritty past – totally worth the visit! 🌷 Idaho Botanical Garden – $12 A peaceful and beautifully maintained garden. Pro tip: Free after 4 PM in the summer! 🎨 Freak Alley Downtown’s iconic graffiti alley – full of wild, weird, and wonderful art. Insta-worthy 📸! 🌸 Cherie Buckner-Webb Park Features pink tree sculptures and swings – a lovely spot to relax at sunset. 🇪🇸 Basque Block Home to one of the largest Basque communities outside Europe! Don’t miss: Basque Museum and Cultural Center – $7 Cyrus Jacobs/Uberuaga House – included in ticket, step into a traditional Basque home 🏛 Idaho State Capitol You can’t miss this beautiful capitol building downtown – free to enter and explore. 🛒 Capital City Public Market (Saturdays only) A lively market with local food, crafts, live music, and dancing – so much fun! 🎶🍯 Boise is a relaxed, easy-going city that’s perfect for a chill getaway 🌿👒. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something low-key but full of charm!
