š Idaho Day 2ļ½Purple Latte and an XXXL Potato š„š
Originally, we planned to head straight to Twin Falls early Saturday morningāuntil we found out that two of Boiseās popular markets are only open on Saturdays! So we squeezed them into our schedule. Little did we know, this was the start of our huckleberry obsession! āļø Capital City Public Market Compared to the Boise Farmers Market, this one is smaller and less crowded. But here⦠we tried our first-ever Huckleberry Latte! It was delicious and such a pretty purple color š! We only ordered it because the other options sounded basicābut wow, what a hidden gem! That latte started it all⦠we spent the rest of the trip hunting down everything huckleberry-flavored. Before this, I didnāt even know huckleberries were realāI thought they were just a name from Mark Twainās novels! š Boise Farmers Market This felt more like a place where locals buy flowers and veggies. We were hoping to try some local fruit, but it was mostly bouquets and produce š½š». We found a vendor selling KürtÅs Cakeāa Eastern European dessert. GPT told me itās called āchimney cakeā in English. They make it fresh: wrapping fermented dough around a rod, roasting it over heat, rolling it in sugar, and baking it ātil itās caramelized and crispy outside, soft inside š. The owner said each one takes 10 minutes. After waiting exactly 10 minutes, the Asian guy who ordered after us grabbed OUR cake! ššØ He probably didnāt realize he had to waitāand he happened to order the same flavor. By the time the owner called out to him, heād already taken a bite⦠looked back at us⦠and literally RAN OFF! š The owner and we just stared at each other, laughed quietly, and waited another 10 minutes under the blazing sun āļø. Before leaving, I got another huckleberry drink. The obsession was real. š„ The XXXL Potato By the time we left the market, it was already noon. We drove 20+ minutes outside Boise to see a famous Airbnb shaped like a giant potato! š„ This viral potato was originally built to promote Idahoās potato culture š„, later converted into a rentalāsmack in the middle of nowhere. You can find photos of the interior online, but letās be real: itās more about the vibe than comfort. There are no windows šµ, and the bathroom is outside. If you need to pee at night⦠good luck stumbling through the dark! Still, itās totally worth a stop for photos šø. It looks incredibly real! If youāre curious about staying inside, I heard you need to book at least three months in advance. #Idaho #Boise #TravelUSA #HuckleberrySeason #GiantPotato #RoadTripVibes
