If I had to recommend just one park in Paris

If I had to recommend just one park in Paris, it would definitely be the Jardin du Luxembourg A beloved spot in the Latin Quarter, it’s got it all: historic architecture, natural beauty, and that laid-back French vibe. Plop down on one of those green metal chairs, and you’ll instantly feel like you’re living the Parisian life 🪑. You can question the Medici family’s political tactics, but you can’t deny their eye for beauty. The entire park and its two palaces were built by Marie de’ Medici, Queen of Henry IV. After Henry IV was assassinated, Marie acted as regent for her young son, Louis XIII. But as the king grew older, he grew less tolerant of his mother’s regency. So the queen bought land here and built the Luxembourg Palace. Both the palace and the park were modeled after Florence’s Palazzo Pitti, where she spent her teenage years. Today, the palace is home to the French Senate 🏛️. For me, one of the park’s highlights is the over-400-year-old Medici Fountain ⛲️. Imagine this: back in 1929, Sartre and de Beauvoir sat right by this fountain, talking about their hopes for their relationship and how they’d navigate their future. It was here that Sartre came up with his famous concepts of "necessary love" and "contingent love"—looking back, it might sound a bit like "player talk," but when it comes to love, who can really judge except the people in it? That said, it is the perfect spot for a date or just spacing out 😌. Around the pond, there are tons of gray-green metal chairs and loungers. On a nice day, they’re all taken—people sunbathing, reading, just soaking it in. Sunlight filters through the trees, dappling the green grass with light and shadow that’s as lively as a Monet painting ✨. This lovely autumn afternoon in 2024, this sense of ease and contentment—even years from now, I think it’ll still feel like such a sweet memory 🍂. #ParisPhotoSpot #ParisTravelGuide #NaturePalette
