If you're tired of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai food

Friends in the US—do you find yourself scrolling back and forth through Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Thai food options every time you open a food delivery app? 🌏 You’ve also had your fill of Mexican burritos, Italian spaghetti bolognese, and French macarons, and your taste buds are practically screaming for something new? 😩 Stop hesitating! I strongly recommend you unlock a new flavor—Peruvian cuisine! It’s a total pleasant surprise after trying it myself. Its flavors really cater to Asian palates, balancing sweet, sour, salty, and umami perfectly. There’s no "anxiety" of trying an unfamiliar cuisine, and you can easily fall in love with it even on the first try~❤️ When it comes to Peruvian cuisine, we must first rave about its signature appetizer—Ceviche (Lemon-Marinated Sashimi) 🐟! The moment it’s served, the fresh scent of lemon rushes into your nose. The bright orange-yellow fish is mixed with chopped onions and cilantro, looking incredibly appetizing~🥰 Scoop a spoonful into your mouth: the fish is "cooked" just right by the fresh lemon juice, so tender that it melts as soon as you take a sip. First, the refreshing taste of lemon hits your taste buds, then the natural sweetness of the fish spreads in your mouth, and finally, a hint of sea salt lingers to finish—super rich layers! Although it’s a bit similar to the freshness of Thai spicy seafood, it has an extra touch of Peruvian-style fruity aftertaste. After one bite, you’ll want more, and it’s not greasy at all! Every time I go to a Peruvian restaurant, I order this dish without even looking at the menu—it’s definitely the top 1 must-try 🌟. Friends who haven’t tried it must give it a go! However, I have a small regret to share with you: all the Peruvian restaurants I’ve been to seem a bit too salty 😅. I don’t know if it’s because my taste is too mild (after all, I usually choose 30% sugar for milk tea) or if Peruvian cuisine itself prefers heavy salt seasoning. Every time I eat, I have to pair it with iced cola or Peru’s signature Inca Kola to cut the greasiness—taking a gulp is super refreshing~🥤 You can tell the waiter to go easy on the salt in advance to avoid disappointment! The treasure Peruvian restaurant in Ohio that I want to highlight this time is Salar Restaurant and Lounge ✨! Whether you live in Dayton or Cincinnati (Cincy), it’s worth making a special trip for! The restaurant has a super cozy atmosphere—warm-toned lights paired with Peruvian-style tapestries and clay pot decorations. As soon as you sit down, it feels like you’ve been transported to a South American street in an instant~🌍 📍 The address is 400 E 5th St, Dayton, OH 45402, with an average cost of around $100 per person 🔪. Although it’s not cheap, the ingredients are visibly fresh, and each dish is exquisitely made. Treating yourself to a high-quality meal occasionally will fill you with happiness! 💯 In addition to the must-order Ceviche, I also recommend trying their grilled beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes 🥩—the beef is juicy and tender, and the mashed potatoes are as smooth as clouds; there’s also Peruvian seafood rice, where every grain of rice is soaked in the umami of seafood, making it super satisfying to eat! Next time I go, I want to try their mango cocktail too—it looks super good, and it will definitely look great in photos~📸 #NorthAmericanLife #AmericanLife #AmericanFood #Ohio #Cincinnati #DailyFood #PeruvianFood #MyFoodDiary #RestaurantHopping #FoodieLife #NorthAmericaRestaurant
