International students in Southampton must visit Northern France!
A new direct flight from Southampton to Caen, France, has recently launched, with a flight time of just 45 minutes. After checking travel guides and realizing its proximity to Mont-Saint-Michel and Étretat’s cliffs (La Falaise d’Aval), I decided to embark on a spontaneous weekend getaway! Here’s the detailed itinerary: Day 1️⃣ 🕐 Itinerary: Southampton ✈️ Caen 🚗 Transport: Arrive at Caen Airport around 12:30 PM. Options include a taxi (≈€20) or Bus Line 3 to the city center. For the bus, download the Twisto app and show the QR code to the driver. ⛪️ Attractions: Explore Caen’s compact highlights: L'Abbaye-aux-Hommes (Men’s Abbey) Rue Saint-Pierre (main shopping street) St Peter’s Catholic Church Caen Castle Museum of Fine Arts, Caen Musée de Normandie (Normandy Museum) 🎫 Tickets: The art museum and Normandy Museum require separate tickets (≈€8/person).
