Irvine | Surprisingly Delicious and Beautiful Affordable French Food

The restaurant is called Marché Moderne, located near Newport Beach. I usually have low expectations for French food in the LA area, but this place was a delightful surprise! Almost everything we ordered was a hit—it’s the kind of "white people food" that even guys would enjoy 😄. The ambiance is also lovely, perfect for dates or gatherings with friends. 💖 We’re both light eaters, but we ended up super full! We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 main courses, and 1 dessert—and when the bill came, we were shocked! Even with tip, it was under $300 🔪. The value totally surpasses other overpriced and underwhelming fine dining places. 🙌 Must-order recommendations: • Mango Hamachi: Delicious 😋 • Wagyu Beef & Crab: SUPER delicious 🥩🦀 • Hokkaido Scallop: SUPER delicious 🐚 • Braised Short Rib: Tender and flavorful 🍖 • Duck Liver: Pretty good—but if you’re not a fan of liver, it might taste a bit strong. We ordered it because we were craving foie gras! • Chocolate Soufflé: Tasty but very sweet—not as mind-blowing as some said on Xiaohongshu, but still enjoyable 🍫. • 🍸 The cocktails were amazing! I forgot the name, but the lychee-flavored wine was a total win. Next time, I definitely want to try more desserts and other dishes!
