🌸 Is a Day Trip to Izu Worth It? 🌸
Izu is a well-known spot for check-ins, featuring the "Your Name" matcha-colored Ōshima Yama, Jōgasaki Coast, and even open-air capybaras... You can comfortably experience Izu's top three attractions without staying overnight, no special forces required! 😎 🚄 How to Get to Izu? Take the Shinkansen, and you can reach Atami in just 36 minutes. Depart from Tokyo Station to Atami Station, and directly transfer from platform 6 to platform 1 for the 【Izu Hakone Line】, getting off at Izu Plateau. Alternatively, you can take the JR directly from Tokyo to Atami and then transfer to the Izu Hakone Line. ⚠️ Be aware of the long intervals between Izu Hakone Line services. 🚉 How to Get from Izu Plateau Station to Ōshima Yama? After exiting the station, to your right is where you can purchase a bus one-day pass for 900 yen. After buying the ticket, follow the corridor to Bus Stop platform 1. ⚠️ Buses run infrequently, so check the schedule in advance; they come about once an hour. 🎟️ The bus one-day pass offers discounts on tickets at Ōshima Yama and the zoo, so don't lose it! 1️⃣ Ōshima Yama The symbol of Izu Plateau, it became extremely popular after the movie "Your Name". The view is filled with greenery, very healing. ❤️🩹 🎟️ With the one-day pass, it's discounted to 400 yen. 🚠 The only way up and down is by cable car, which sways a bit, causing some worry, but soon you'll be healed by the scenery. 📷 After reaching the summit, walk around the crater, take photos, and check-in spots will take about 40 minutes. On a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji from the direction of the ascent! 2️⃣ Cactus Zoo Right across from Ōshima Yama, the animals here are closer to visitors, and many people come for the free-roaming capybaras. Animal lovers must not miss it! 🎟️ With the one-day pass, it's discounted to 2500 yen. 🚍 How to Get from Ōshima Yama to Jōgasaki Coast? The opposite side of where you got off at Ōshima Yama, platform 2, is the direction for the Marine Park. Just ride until the end, and the whole trip takes about 20 minutes. 3️⃣ Jōgasaki Coast After getting off, head towards the entrance, and on your left, there's a wooden sign. Follow the walking path for over 20 minutes until you reach the suspension bridge. 🪨 It was my first time feeling the charm of waves crashing against rocks at Jōgasaki Coast. The deep blue waves need no filter; I posted the original live photos, and they were stunningly beautiful. For a distant view of the suspension bridge, you can walk to the outside parking lot 🅿️ where there's a dedicated wooden platform for long-distance shots. 🚄 How to Return to Tokyo from Jōgasaki Coast? 🅿️ I chose to walk to Jōgasaki Coast Station, following the cherry blossom avenue opposite the suspension bridge parking lot entrance in the affluent area for 1.3 kilometers, which took about 20 minutes. 🚉 Check the timetable and board the train to reach Atami Station, a 50-minute journey. 🚄 After arriving at Atami, transfer to the Shinkansen on platform 7 to return to Tokyo. 🌊 A day trip to the eastern part of Izu is just right, leaving at 8 AM and returning to Tokyo Station by 6 PM. ✅ This one-day itinerary is perfect for friends living in central Tokyo who want to take a trip to Izu. #IzuTravel #IzuDayTrip #ŌshimaYama #JōgasakiCoast #TokyoDayTrip
