Is Foodie Tier Worth It? Honest Experience at Saigon Alley 🍲
Recently tried the Vietnamese AYCE Hot Pot at Saigon Alley — it really exceeded expectations! Fresh ingredients, plus appetizers so good they taste like street food in Vietnam. I went with the Foodie Tier, which is totally worth it — many unique dishes are only available at this level. 🥘 Ingredient Area (Seriously Impressive) Veggies, mushrooms, fish balls, tofu, lotus root, corn, rice cakes, noodles… refilled quickly and everything looked fresh, not dry or discolored. Clean and tidy presentation. 🔥 Soup Base Recommendation: MUST GET Saigon Alley Signature Spicy Beef Broth! This broth blew my mind — a Vietnamese-style mala broth that’s spicy but not overpowering, fragrant, smooth, and appetite-waking. Pairs amazingly with beef, seafood, and veggies. If it’s your first time, highly recommend this base — zero regrets. 🫖 Drink Station Saigon Tea was my favorite — lightly sour and sweet, super refreshing. The milk tea wasn’t too sweet either — easy to sip throughout the meal. 🍮 Vietnamese Dessert – Chè (Must after the meal) Loaded with ingredients: grass jelly, noodles, green jelly, red beans in coconut milk. Perfect for cutting through the richness after hot pot — so comforting. 🍢 Foodie Tier Appetizer Section (Strongly Recommend Upgrading!) 🔥 Bò lá lốt (Grilled Beef Wrapped in Betel Leaves) Incredibly aromatic — tender, juicy beef with a light char, served with pickles and fish sauce — next level. 🐙 Grilled Octopus Skewers Super tender octopus, not chewy at all — even better with dipping sauce. 🥢 Bánh cuốn (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls) Thin wrappers, generous filling, crispy fried shallots — tasted just like street food in Vietnam. 🥩 Beef Carpaccio (Vietnamese Style) – A BIG Surprise! Only available with Foodie Tier — thinly sliced beef with a perfect sweet, sour, salty, spicy balance. Eat with herbs and onions for a refreshing kick. The shrimp crackers on the side add great texture — keeps you coming back for more. ⭐ Overall Thoughts Saigon Alley offers great value for money — fresh ingredients, quality appetizers, and unique soup bases. Foodie Tier is totally worth the upgrade — lots of special small plates and dishes included.
