Izu Journey Live | Shimoda Half-Day Itinerary (1)🌊
This is the final stop of the "Izu-Kyu Line," Shimoda. Though it's a small harbor in southern Izu, Shimoda is historically significant as the place where the famous "Black Ships Incident" occurred, marking Japan's opening to the world. In June, Shimoda isn't too crowded. Most visitors are elderly couples drawn by the beautiful hydrangeas. 🌊🌟 But if you plan to stay in Izu for more than two days, besides Ohirayama and Shirahama Beach, Izu is definitely worth spending a good half-day exploring. 🌺 Sharing the "Shimoda Half-Day Itinerary": Shirahama Shrine--Shirahama Beach--Seaside Torii 🔜 Getting There: Buses are the main mode of transportation in the city. Immediately after exiting Shimoda Station, you'll see an orange bus. Use Google Maps to find the schedule for the bus that goes to your desired destination, then head to the corresponding bus stop to wait. 🚌 ⛩️ Shirahama Shrine: This is the oldest shrine in Izu, with a history of 2400 years. Walk through the shrine grounds, and on the right, you'll see a sign for the parking lot. 🌊🌟 Follow the torii gate down from the parking lot, and you'll reach the seaside torii and Shirahama Beach directly. #IzuTravel #Shimoda #JapanTrip 🌿
