Hamamatsu Castle: The Rise of Tokugawa Ieyasu ๐ฐ ๐ Hamamatsu Castle is the city where Tokugawa Ieyasu rose to prominence. Ieyasu spent 17 years in Hamamatsu Castle, from the age of 29 to 45. ๐ฐ The Battle of Mikatagahara with Takeda Shingen originated from Shingen's disregard for this castle. Additionally, during the Edo period, most of the successive lords of the castle became important figures in the shogunate, hence the castle is also known as the "Castle of Advancement." ๐ Now maintained as Hamamatsu Castle Park, you can still see the stone walls piled up over 400 years ago. The reconstructed main keep, built in 1958, offers panoramic views: to the north lies the ancient battlefield of Mikatagahara, to the south is the Enshu Plain, to the west is Lake Hamana, and on a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji to the east. ๐ ๐ฐ #Japan ๐ #JapanTravel ๐ #JapaneseHistory ๐๏ธ #Japan100FamousCastles ๐ฐ
