Joe’s Seafood, Las Vegas — Edible
A place where you can try stone crab without flying to Florida. Not sure how they’re related to the original Joe’s in Florida, but they serve it here. They have a few locations outside Vegas too, so you might get a chance elsewhere. Overall — tried them once, not really eager to return. Not that it’s bad — the stone crab is worth trying, but everything else is just average. Price doesn’t match the quality. On the Strip, in an upscale setting, the high prices aren’t the issue — the flavors just aren’t great enough. ✔️ (1) Stone Crab — Tasty. My first time trying stone crab — refreshing, sweet, tender, with almost no fishy taste. Better than regular crab legs/claws. But that’s more about the crab itself than the kitchen. ✔️ (2) Better than Caesar’s Buffet — their stone crab beats the Caesar’s Palace buffet version. ✔️ (3) Other dishes — edible, not bad, but not memorable. You’re here for the crab — skip the rest.👍😁 ⚠️ Downsides: ❌ (1) Expensive — Stone crab runs around $80–100. Other dishes are pricey too — prime ribeye ~$70, Chilean sea bass ~$53 for a small portion. Fine for a high-end steakhouse, but the flavor doesn’t justify it. ❌ (2) Small portions — Unlike typical American steakhouses that stuff you, Joe’s feels almost “health-conscious” in a stingy way. ❌ (3) Stone crab isn’t crave-worthy — one try is enough. Not as addictive as hairy crab 🦀. #LasVegas #StoneCrab #StoneCrabClaws #StoneCrabSeason #AmericanCuisine #Steakhouse
