Just Discovered Such Amazing Japanese Food in Pasadena!? 🍣✨

Went with friends this weekend to try Ichima—a super popular but still under-the-radar Japanese spot in Pasadena. Every single dish blew me away! Not only was the plating gorgeous and Instagram-worthy, but the flavors were creative and exciting! The menu has so many unique items you won’t find at typical Japanese restaurants—it just keeps getting better the more you eat~ 🍱 Sakana Sashimi (15 pieces of thick-cut sashimi) We were stunned when it arrived—each slice was so thick you couldn’t eat it in one bite! Super generous portions, a great variety of fish, super fresh with no fishy taste—the rich, buttery flavor was incredible~ 🍚 Chirashi Bowl (12 pieces of sashimi over rice) So much sashimi you can’t even see the rice! Besides sashimi, it comes with eel, crab stick, salmon roe, sweet shrimp, tamagoyaki… So much variety—every bite is interesting! Perfect if you want both raw fish and rice. 🐟 Sammy Salmon I loved this one! Crispy wonton skin topped with fried salmon, drizzled with sauce and garnished with cilantro and onion—sweet, spicy, and tangy. So appetizing and full of texture! 🍊 Yellow Sunset Seared yellowtail with orange—surprisingly amazing together! Light, refreshing, and not heavy at all. Great as a starter—the flavor is super bright and clean! 🌮 Sushi Taco So cute! Crispy fried seaweed as the taco shell—one with spicy tuna, the other with salmon and flying fish roe. Crunchy outside, tender inside—so flavorful and creative! 🍱 Bento Combination (Teriyaki Chicken + Teriyaki Beef) Perfect for a lunch bento! I picked two main dishes—both beef and chicken were grilled to perfection. Comes with rice, salad, and gyoza—a full and satisfying meal! The vibe inside was nice too—soft lighting, clean space, and it felt like a popular spot for dates and birthdays. We even saw a birthday celebration at the next table—such a warm atmosphere! Parking was easy—located in a plaza with plenty of spots. Overall, Ichima isn’t just about great food—the whole experience was comfortable and enjoyable.
