π± Kaiseki Yuzu β A Japanese Dining Experience in Las Vegas' Chinatown
We made a reservation well in advance for this spot. The chef is said to be a James Beard Award finalist, so expectations were high! Hereβs a breakdown of our kaiseki course:πβ€οΈ First Course β Assorted Appetizers Included sweet shrimp, marinated scallop on a stick, tofu, marinated white fish, tuna nigiri, marinated young peach, and seaweed jelly soup. Everything wasβ¦ fine? Nothing really stood out or wowed me. Sashimi Plate Featured o-toro (which was excellent), nodoguro, and a white fish I canβt recall.ππ A unique touch: they served a citrus foam (yuzu-flavored, slightly salty) to place on the fish β a nice pairing! Wagyu-Wrapped Seafood Cylinder A5 wagyu wrapped around a mix of shrimp, scallop, and mushroom, topped with truffle. Found it a bit heavy, and the sauce was overly rich for my taste. Grilled Tuna Head & Cheek Not something you see often β flavor was decent. A5 Wagyu Beefππ Two small pieces β tender and well-prepared. Tempura Shishito pepper stuffed with shrimp β a nice surprise! Served with that citrus foam again β worked really well together. Fried Snapper with Vinegar Yam Sauce The fish was just okay, but the sauce stood out.π Three Kinds of Nigiri Nodoguro, A5 wagyu, and a uni hand roll served with miso soup.πβ€οΈ Dessert It was alright β pleasant but not memorable. Overall impression: It wasβ¦ fine. Not a bad experience, but not really my style. Maybe kaiseki just isnβt for me? The meal was thoughtfully composed, but nothing left a strong impression. #KaisekiYuzu #LasVegasEats #JapaneseCuisine #FineDining #NotMyStyle #FoodReview πΆ
