Engaku-ji Temple 🎫 500 yen 🎢🍃 Engaku-ji, established in 1282, is one of Japan's ancient Zen temples. The temple is not crowded with tourists; instead, it's mostly locals taking leisurely strolls. 🌺🌇 Surrounded by lush green trees and newly bloomed cherry blossoms🌸, the temple exudes an air of simplicity and humility. 🎢🍃Occasionally, the sound of monks chanting drifts through the breeze, and every corner of the temple whispers Zen wisdom. 🌿 Meigetsu-in Temple 🎫 300 yen 🌺🌇Also known as the "Hydrangea Temple," Meigetsu-in is famous for its hydrangeas, though they are not in full bloom during spring. However, its garden, ancient stone steps, and bamboo groves still hold a unique charm in the season. 🎢🍃 The best time to visit is from June to July, followed by autumn, when you can enjoy different views through the round windows. 🌿 Jochi-ji Temple 🎫 500 yen 🌺🌇 Founded in 1253, Jochi-ji is one of Japan's earliest Zen temples of the Rinzai sect. 🎢🍃The temple is renowned for its "zazen" (Zen meditation) culture, and its garden and architecture are imbued with Zen spirit. The main gate and Buddha hall give off a strong sense of history, as if you can hear the footsteps of time. 😢 Sadly, the main hall is under renovation until 2027, so the famous Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statue will not be visible until then. 🙏 #Kamakura 🌇
