Kanoyama | A Michelin One-Star Omakase with Heart and Soul 🌟
I spent this year’s Valentine’s Day at Kanoyama, and let me tell you, this long-standing Michelin one-star restaurant truly lived up to its reputation! From the creativity to the flavors, everything was absolutely top-notch! 🌺 Three Appetizers: There was sea urchin custard, sashimi tartare, and bamboo shoots. The presentation was simply stunning—no words needed! 🍣 Orange Sashimi: Super refreshing, with a unique flavor that even outshines yuzu. It was a delightful surprise! 🍊 Sushi: Every piece was incredibly fragrant. Even though I’m not usually a fan of mackerel, the sushi and rolls here were so delicious I wanted more! 🍣 Sea Urchin Sauce Grilled Lobster: Paired with water chestnut crisps and stuffed peaches, this combination was nothing short of divine. It’s the kind of dish you’ll remember forever! 🦞 Onion Soup: A perfect starter to warm you up. 🥄 Tamago: A delightful twist with a semi-liquid yolk texture that was truly special. 🥚 Dessert: Chocolate chunks and chocolate soufflé. They were a bit too sweet for my taste, but my partner loved them! We also got rose sake, honey green tea, and hot buckwheat tea—such a thoughtful touch! 🍫🍵 The total cost, including drinks and tips, was under $300 per person. This has to be the most affordable and heartwarming omakase in New York! I’ll definitely be back next month. 😍 #NewYork #NYCDining #NYCOmakase 🗽🌟
