KIZAKI - Denver's First Sushi Michelin Star? 🌟🍣
📍 Location: 1551 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210 (Shared building with Margot) 👨🍳 Experience: Arrived early and enjoyed cocktails at the main bar 🍸 before being led to the inner dining room. The chefs introduced themselves and proudly presented the day’s fresh ingredients, including real wasabi root! Highlight: They served kohada (gizzard shad)! 🐟 In Denver! And it wasn’t fishy at all—major plus! Offered a sake pairing with four varieties, served in wine glasses. The selection leaned modern. Though limited, the pours were generous. By the end, I had all four glasses lined up for a side-by-side tasting flight 😂 Cooked dishes felt slightly heavier than traditional Japanese flavors—maybe adjusted for local tastes. The first soup was a bit salty 🍲 Black sesame tofu had an intense, slightly overwhelming nuttiness Lobster corn chowder—the corn sweetness completely overshadowed the delicate lobster flavor 🦞 But the sashimi and sushi truly shined! ✨ Each piece reflected high-quality fish and expert handling. Probably one of the top omakase experiences in Denver—prove me wrong! You can order additional pieces if you’re still hungry Dessert and tea were just okay—expected maybe a fancy Japanese melon 🍈, but got basic mochi 🍡 Price: $225 per person 💵 📌 Final Thoughts: I didn’t have high hopes for Denver’s sushi scene—especially with so many new “fusion” omakase spots charging Michelin-level prices. KIZAKI stands out with a more traditional approach. Go for the fish—it’s the real deal! #DenverFood #DenverSushi #Omakase #KizakiDenver #MichelinEats #SushiLover #FoodieReview #JapaneseCuisine #DenverEats #FineDining
