Komazawa Olympic Park: A Hidden Gem in Tokyo 🏞️✨

After living in the school dormitory for a year, I had to move out and find a new place. 🎢🌸 Since I was heading to Europe for an exchange program in six months, I couldn’t commit to a long-term rental, so I ended up in a share house near Komazawa Olympic Park. Location Quirks: Southbound: A 30-minute walk to my research lab or a bus + train combo costing over ¥1,000 round trip. 🏞️✨ Northbound: A 30-minute walk through the park to the train station. Most days, I chose to walk through the park to catch the train. The park, designed by Yoshinobu Ashihara for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, is stunning. 🌿🌇 It features three unique gymnasiums, each with its own charm, and a layout that’s both functional and beautiful. On my walks, I’d pass two gyms, a large plaza, and a tree-lined path. 🏞️✨ I’d see people jogging, playing baseball, and even shirtless Japanese men sunbathing on benches—a sight you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Local Eats: My share house was right above an Ippudo Ramen. 🌿🌇 After long hours of work, I’d head down for a bowl of ramen and devour their free spicy bean sprouts. 🍜 #Tokyo #KomazawaPark 🌊
