Kosoan, Perfect for a Leisurely Break 🌿

Thursday is Culture Day, and since I only had one day off, I didn't want to go too far but still needed a quiet and relaxing spot. 🌿✨ The first place that came to mind was this teahouse in Jiyugaoka, Kosan-an. ✨The name of the teahouse comes from the novelist Matsuo Yori, who was also the son-in-law of Natsume Soseki. The building itself was completed in 1954, and the ancient mulberry wood used for the teahouse was sourced from Mr. Matsuo's hometown. As the number of family members dwindled, the teahouse began its operations in 1999. 🌿✨ 🌿✨ The shop opens at noon every day. We arrived around 1:30 PM, so we didn't have to wait in line, but the good seats by the window were already taken. ✨ We had to sit in the middle. We ordered hot matcha🍵 and a piece of wagashi. 🌿✨ The matcha was rich and natural in flavor, and the wagashi, filled with walnuts, had just the right amount of sweetness to complement the matcha perfectly. #Tokyo 🌇🌿
