KU Eats | Best Thai Food Near Campus! ๐๐ถ๏ธ
โผ๏ธ I just discovered the most amazing Thai restaurant near the University of Kansas โ and itโs an absolute hidden gem! ๐Jongโs Thai Kitchen โ 800 SW 12th St, Topeka, KS 66612 As a student stuck between Kansas City and Topeka, my weekend treat meals always meant heading to KC โ I never even considered Topeka. But this week, my boyfriend had back-to-back meetings there, and thanks to that, we uncovered this incredible spot! ๐ What really convinced me were his colleagues โ some from the West Coast, others from major Midwestern cities โ who couldnโt stop raving about it. With recommendations that strong, I had to try it myself! So the next day, I drove over for lunch, ordered two dishes by myself, loved them so much, and even took one more to go for dinner. No regrets โ it was that good! ๐ The owner is American, and his wife is Thai. When I complimented the food, he grinned and said, โI know!โ ๐โค๏ธ So confident โ and totally deserved! A few tips: The place is pretty small, so make a reservation or be prepared to wait. The vibe is cozy and welcoming โ you can tell most customers are regulars who keep coming back. The owners are genuinely warm and kind (not in an overwhelming way โ it just feels like home). You can choose your spice level โ I went with โThai Hot Spicy,โ which the owner said is authentic. It was a bit fiery for me ๐ถ๏ธ๐ฅ, but the flavor was so good I finished every bite! Heads up: The mango sticky rice ๐ฅญ isnโt available daily. They only make it when they find good mangoes, so call ahead if youโre craving it! ๐ธ P.S. The restaurant pics Iโm using are from Google Reviews โ you can search them up yourself! I highly recommend this place โ I only wish Iโd discovered it sooner! #ThaiFood #KU #TopekaEats #HiddenGem #ThaiKitchen #StudentEats #FoodieFind #KansasFood #InternationalEats #ComfortFood
