😱 LA’s Chuan Shan Jia “Mountain House
Well, this was a first… 🎣 While digging into their signature Qing Yi Se Mao Xue Wang (spicy blood andstew), we were told one of its special ingredients was eel strips. But instead of eel, what did we fish out? A piece of plastic wrap — yep, you read that right 🫢. The restaurant’s solution? They took the dish off the bill. We were already full anyway, so we didn’t ask for a replacement. 🍲 But even without the plastic… the food wasn’t impressive: Mao Xue Wang: Lack of wok hei — tasted like the hot oil was poured long before serving Mapo Tofu: My friend from Chengdu makes a better version at home — with more minced beef, too 🐄 Mother’s Pig Trotters Soup: The trotters weren’t tender enough, the beans were still hard, and the broth tasted… artificially enhanced 🧪 Dessert – Osmanthus Sago: The sago was one giant jelly block — were they trying to serve us Japanese-style dessert? 😂 🚫 Final Verdict: A disappointing experience — from hidden “ingredients” to underwhelming flavors. We expected authentic Sichuan heat and soul… but left feeling let down. #ChuanShanJia #MountainHouseLA #SichuanFoodFail #PlasticInFood #LAEats #FoodSafetyFail
