LA | Hidden Gem: Handmade Pasta in an Industrial-Chic Kitchen šŸšŸ

Finally met up with my foodie friend and got to pet their cat! 🐱 The Factory Kitchen was on both of our must-try lists, so we made it happen—no second thoughts! šŸ Located in the Arts District, this spot is a true hidden gem. Housed in a converted industrial space, it keeps the raw, loft-like vibe with an open kitchen where you can watch pasta being made by hand. The pasta is exceptional, and the other dishes hold their own too. Fun fact: it’s a sister restaurant to Brera, another pasta treasure I’ve shared before! šŸ„— Ortalana: A starter salad with leafy greens, radish, honeyed dates, and goat cheese—fresh and balanced! šŸ– Prosciutto: Thinly sliced Italian ham with silky cheese, lightly baked sage dough, and arugula. So hard to find prosciutto that’s not too salty or heavy—this one was a surprise hit! šŸ Venison Tagliatelle: The star! Fresh egg tagliatelle with red wine-braised venison and Grana cheese. It reminded me of Brera’s pasta—firm texture, rich meaty bits, though the venison was subtle. 🄟 Casonzei: My friend ordered these stuffed pasta pockets filled with pork sausage and beef in brown butter—they loved it! 🄩 Porchetta: Crispy-skinned roasted pork—a classic Italian favorite! Tender, layered meat with crackling skin, served with parsley to cut the richness. A must-order! šŸ® Saracena: A non-alcoholic tiramisu! Mascarpone layered over espresso-soaked cereal cake—such a creative twist! As an amateur baker, I couldn’t stop eating it! šŸ¹ Their drinks are great too! Verdict: As Brera’s sister restaurant, I’d say it’s even better. Top-tier handmade pasta, unique mains, and Michelin-recognized yet low-key—definitely a spot worth visiting!
