πΎ LA | Orsa & Winston β A Restaurant Named After Dogs! πΆ
Officially a 5-course menuβ¦ but they generously served us 9 courses! For the price, this has to be one of the best-value fine dining experiences in LA. As we were leaving, I spotted portraits of two dogs on the wall πΌοΈ. I asked β and yes, the restaurant is named after the ownerβs two pups. How adorable is that? π π½οΈ Course Highlights: Steamed Egg β Served warm (not hot), topped with something crispy like caviar (later found out it was filled caviar at Udatsu!) Kanpachi β Topped with pink blueberries π« β crispy and sweet! Black sesame added aroma without the greasiness of sesame oil. Herbal Clam Soup with Japanese Squid β The squid was fried (interesting!), but the soup was too salty π§ Fried Fish Salad β Unique greens with yuzu dressing π₯, but the cheese was a bit overpowering. Lobster Dumpling β Sweet but not cloying, with tender wrappers. Loved it! π₯ Cured Fish β Tasted just like my momβs homemade mackerel β a nostalgic, savory bite. Proof that French and Cantonese cuisines share some magic β¨ Seafood Porridge β A must-add! Loaded with uni, lobster, scallop, abalone, red prawn & caviar β an ocean explosion! π₯£π Olive Fish β Great texture! Served with bread thatβs perfect for sauce-dipping, and roasted figs that were even better than the fish! π𧑠A truly delightful Friday night β flavorful, creative, and full of sweet surprises π #OrsaAndWinston #DogNamedRestaurant #LAFineDining #FrenchJapaneseFusion #ValueMeal
